I have always been involved in sport from a very early age and have enjoyed every minute of it, I have been very lucky that whichever school I attended had very good PE teachers who were able to give me excellent tutelage. I played practically every sport at school and for the school including basketball, football, rugby, cricket, badminton, and athletics.
I had various trials to play some of the above at much higher levels however my first taste of professionalism was when I had trials for Manchester City football club as a teenager even though I did not get taken on and was disappointed, I learned it’s not just talent that you need to succeed, it also takes hard work.
I became involved in martial arts first Judo then Shotokan Karate, discovering how to use the Chinese weapon Nunchaku but my favourite martial art was Thai Boxing and I eventually went on to compete in the ring, I still do Thai Boxing to this day for fitness, It was about this time when I really got into the fitness and the training ideology behind the gym and what it can do for fitness goals and wellbeing, I was hooked. I went to use what I had learnt in the Gym to compete in several Cross-training competitions across the region and UK.
GYM TRAINING TO INCLUDE:
By this I refer to loss of body fat through creating a calorie deficit within the body. I do this by educating and emphasising the importance of nutrition whilst using training techniques to turn the body in to a calorie burning machine..

Thai Boxing for fitness
Muay Thai, also referred to as "Thai Boxing", is a martial art and combat sport that uses stand-up striking along with various clinching techniques. This discipline is known as the "art of eight limbs" as it is characterised by the combined use of fists, elbows, knees and shins.
Practising Thai Boxing can have several health and wellbeing qualities such as:

The Nunchaku is traditional Okinawan Chinese martial arts weapon, made famous by Bruce Lee in the 1960s, however they can be used for physical training, since it allows for the development of quicker arm and hand movements and can also improve:

Modern-day Nunchaku can be made from metal, wood, plastic, rubber, foam or fiberglass. Although illegal to carry on the street in England they can be used for self-defence in your own private environment, whether your a seasoned martial artist or you just love Bruce Lee films, learning to use Nunchaku is a worthwhile and enjoyable pastime. Now you can learn under instruction and safety.
